IN IOWA, MORTGAGES EAT LESS OF YOUR PAYCHECK
Wednesday, November 22, 2017
Look at the above map, which visualizes newly released U.S. Census Bureau data. This map shows the percentage of homeowners in each state who spend 30 percent or more of their monthly incomes on home mortgage payments. The darker the shade of green, the higher the percent age of homeowners in that state who spend 30 percent or more of their incomes on mortgage payments.
Notice Iowa in the middle of the country, in the lightest possible shade. That’s because in Iowa, more people are able to pay mortgages and have money remaining for other uses, and it’s also why Iowa is the best state to pursue the American dream.
